My Aunt , My dad, and My Granny – ICONIC. ICONS, GODS AND GODDESSES – consider the life someone may have lived fifty years or more and the most traumatic childhood, adulthood. And then, finally either dying of a heart attack or finally dying from an illness, or suicide!! Death is the relief sought by so many and the ones who can’t make it here, usually have a damn good reason why! And, they should be respected in death. They usually were not in life.

Maybe you’re not old enough or just not involved in the sporting side of the motorcycling hobby, but he certainly was an “Icon”. His riding ability and marketing made him the poster boy for a sector of motorcycling that during his heyday was otherwise entirely comprised of “Ruff Riderz” and dudes with fun fur on clapped out GSXRs. He legitimized stunt riding to the mainstream and importantly, OEM brands. This makes him an icon.

Why? He did not speak ill of the dead. There IS a better place awaiting after death.

Undoubtedly Mr. Pfeiffer was talented. Depression is rough.

Superlatives are over-used. The men listed did quite a bit to be called icons.

Stating facts should not be a reason for being insulted.

I had the privilege to see Mr Pfieffer perform in different shows. At the time is was new and mind blowing.
The fact he was well known and respected enough for BMW to commission a special edition model in his name speaks for his influence.

RIP to probably the best known original mainstream stunter and a fellow rider.

yup – Chris Pfeiffer qualifies (at least for me). If he was not known in the USA or not, I can not comment, but his influence reached to me from Europe all the way to Asia.
